Hello everyone, Thank you for coming back, and welcome to my second blog! These presentations covered dedicated change makers over multiple time periods. We covered change makers from the constitutional authors, the 1800s, 1900s, and 2000s to the present day. Each individual change maker and era represented a different time in history, which establishes how much growth we have had as a country.  Group 1 began with the constitutional writers. This was a strong start since it established the history of our country. By starting truly at the beginning, the audience was given additional context and appreciation for the presentations to follow. Their presentation did an extraordinary job linking their change makers. Group 1 shows how much collaboration went into this founding document. They explained the why and how this document came to be while highlighting each change maker's individual works. The opening change maker was James Madison. I feel like it was extremely important to ...

Changemakers Blog by Cassandra Chery One very important thing that I learned throughout these presentations is that history is often taught as a long list of dates and dusty old documents and scrolls, but if you look closer, it is actually a collection of stories about people who refused to accept the world as it was. These changemakers, the thinkers, the rebels, the healers, and the builders, didn't just live through history; they grabbed it by the shoulders and turned it in a new direction. From the humid, tension-filled rooms where the United States was born to the fast-paced, digital halls of modern justice, the individuals we explored in public speaking class from late February to early March represents the very best of human ambition and grit. Below, I will give a summary and description on the the specific changemakers which we learned in class. Following that, I will speak about my classmates, the group of people who wonderfully represented the ambitious changemakers from ...

The Art Of Public speaking Blog created by Cassandra Chery Upon Initially taking this course, SPC2608, my knowledge on public speaking was very surface level. I have done a few public speeches throughout my academic career  trough the typical Canva or PowerPoint slides, add a few information and design effects stand up in front of  a class then called it a day. To me, that's all there really was to public speaking. However,  this class, SPC2608 taught by Professor Sherri Sinkoff  has taught me other wise. From the evolution of public speaking to the importance of adapting to your audiences customs, from the time that I have spent in my public speaking class, my knowledge just keeps on expanding and I am learning something new everyday. In this blog you are about to read, I am going to list and summarize some of the most key factors that I have learned so far in this class based on a few group presentations which we have covered in class as well as some of my personal...

Hello Everyone,  In today's blog,  I will be reflecting on our first group presentations for Introduction to Public Speaking. Since I am a project manager, I got to see everything firsthand from start to finish. This post will focus. on my observations and anything that really stood out to me. I want to start by sharing my own experience because it was very different overall.  I wasn't a part of the main groups, so for each presentation, I would present either the introduction or the conclusion. I enjoyed my role because it gradually built my confidence.  I remember being extremely nervous for my first conclusion, but by the fourth group, I felt much more comfortable speaking in front of the entire class. When it came time for my first full presentation, I was just as nervous as I was before I started my very first presentation in this class. But having those smaller roles gave me more confidence while I was speaking than I would have had otherwise. Working wi...
